The driver of a tram in Milan was attacked and beaten by a passenger, described as being in an altered state, who was arguing with another person on board the vehicle.
According to what was gathered, the attacker was stopped after a chase on foot by local police officers.
The driver, who suffered several bruises on his face and neck, stopped the line 9 vehicle near the Pirelli skyscraper, headquarters of the Lombard Regional Council, in via FabioFilzi, to ascertain what was happening on the tram.
He was immediately attacked by the man who, after the scuffle, fled on foot only to be stopped shortly afterwards by the officers.
