Update from February 5, 2024, 5:30 a.m.:
In the USA, the Senate introduced a bill for a $118 billion aid package on Sunday (February 4, local time).
In addition to the $20.23 billion for border security at home, this includes, after months of discussions, $60.06 billion in support for Ukraine and $14.1 billion for Israel's security.
“The United States and our allies face diverse, complex and sometimes coordinated challenges from adversaries seeking to disrupt democracy and expand authoritarian influence around the world,” Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said at a news conference.
Ukrainian army bombs drone control center
Kiev – The Ukrainian armed forces said they destroyed a Russian army control center for combat drones on Sunday (February 4).
As the Ukrainian army announced on Telegram, several armored vehicles and guns are said to have been destroyed in fighting on the left bank of the Dnipro in the Kherson region in the south of the country.
Ukrainian troops had formed several bridgeheads there in the fall.
A number of Russian attacks against these positions have been repelled.

The combat drones used by Russia are electronically controlled via the control center on their flight to targets within Ukraine.
The statements from the Ukrainian armed forces could not be independently verified.

Zelensky orders stronger air defenses
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy ordered a strengthening of air defenses during a visit to the front in the Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia regions.
The background is increased attacks by the Russian military with combat drones and missiles on this central section of the front, which is located in southeastern Ukraine.
“The danger is constantly high, and Russia sees the region as one of the main targets for its terrorist attacks,” Zelenskyj reported on his visit to the region on Sunday evening.
Air defense there is also being massively expanded to protect economic activities.
“We are working on expanding the capabilities to launch missiles and drones.”
During his trip to the region, Zelensky also visited Zaporizhzhia and the fronts in front of it.
Zelensky demanded that air defense and electronic warfare resources also need to be strengthened there and in Kryvyi Rih.
This is necessary to protect the critical infrastructure, i.e. the electricity and water supply.
