In a letter sent by Attorney Daniel Haklai and Attorney Amit Shelf on behalf of the Castleman family, it is stated that "they are the heroic act of Yuval and the fact that he was in fact during a long active reserve service lay the groundwork for the request of Yuval's family to recognize him as an IDF soldier."

About two weeks ago, the family demanded to meet with the legal advisor to the government, Gali Beharev Miara.

In a letter sent to her office, the family members claimed that there was a fear that an investigation by the police would not cost anything.

In addition, the family members raised a concern in the letter, according to which police officers and civilians who carry weapons with a license could accidentally shoot and kill civilians. This, following "even very serious statements (in our opinion) criminality) on behalf of the Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir," according to the language of the letter.
