In the "Caesar" hotel exile in Tiberias, members of Kibbutz Baram were informed yesterday about the rockets hitting their farm yard.

"A morning like this shakes us up and highlights the crazy situation we are in," said Leah Reivitz, a member of the kibbutz, who also has the role of spokeswoman for Ra'am.

"We have already been through wars and in the past there were falls and injuries in the kibbutz, but we never evacuated from home. This time it is different and some have already thought about returning home, and then a morning like this comes and then the thoughts arise where all this is going."
Kibbutz Bar'am was established in 1949 and its founders were members of the Hashomer HaTsair movement.
The kibbutz clinging to the northern border is one of the last in Israel that still maintains a cooperative way of life "like a thousand years ago in the kibbutz", as the poet Naomi Shemer described the Nahal hold on the Sinai. Most of the families from Baram have since been at the Caesar Hotel on Tiberias Promenade.
"It's not a simple and challenging reality," Raivitz admits.
"It is not suitable for everyone and there are families, especially families with children, who have left the hotel and rented apartments in the area. We make sure to keep in touch with everyone to hold activities, cultural events and principled discussions that touch our lives as a kibbutz," she said.
We are already thinking about where the upcoming Passover Seder will be held.
The children and youth are in the educational frameworks set up for the Galilee evacuees - from preschool to six-year-olds in the kindergartens and nurseries that operate in the hotel, the elementary school students study in an elementary school established in Kibbutz Ma'gan and the high school students study in the Kiryat al-Hakunin that was established in Upper Tiberias for the evacuee communities.
"We're trying to keep our community together, it's not easy," Raiwitz said.
According to her, the cooperative ways of life that the kibbutz has adhered to until now, in such days, form an envelope that strengthens the community's resilience.
"It is clear that each individual is a person in his own right and each person is different from the other, but the cooperative framework gives the individual security," she said.
"We care and think about everyone, we have a clinic and education and welfare systems. The kibbutz cars are also available here for the members."
Raivitz almost apologizes that it is difficult to hear complaints from her and she also highlights the advantages of temporary life in Tiberias: "We are on the boardwalk, near the Sea of Galilee. There are cafes and a mall nearby. Health insurance clinics are in the city, there are advantages to being in Tiberias," she noted.

According to her, the voices regarding the way the state handles the issue of the security solution in the north are not uniform and there are different voices.
"Some ask how it can be that the security strip is inside Israel and there are those who deal with the question of returning home, but you have to understand that few apartments in Baram have MMD.
In the children's homes there are no alarm systems and you have to remember that with us the warning time is zero," she emphasized.
Among the members of Baram, only the members of the standby squad remained in the kibbutz.
From time to time friends come to the kibbutz with the excuse that they came to pick up equipment they need.
Benny Kalman, a member of the settlement emergency team, says that in fact these are "guys from exile who come to Braam to refresh themselves. They have been away from home for four months and it is difficult, they must come here even for a short time, before returning to the hotel in Tiberias."
