Since this Sunday, February 4, this resident and her neighbors in the Pigalle district, in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, have faced a situation that they themselves describe as “ubuesque”.
Worried for four days by the suspicious smell emanating from an apartment, they realized that their neighbor had died.
Problem: no doctor available to confirm the death, and thus authorize the evacuation of his remains.

Alerted by the neighborhood, the firefighters noted on Sunday the state of decomposition of the corpse, dead for "at least four days", reports Mathilde, the victim's next door neighbor.
The smell is so strong that residents “initially thought it was a drainage problem,” she recalls.
In reality, this tenant in his sixties, “an extremely lonely man”, would have felt unwell in his toilet.
