The festival committee, consisting of members of the Steingaden fire department and the music club, is currently planning a brilliant anniversary festival program.

Both the fire department and the Steingaden music club are celebrating special anniversaries this year - their 150th and 200th birthdays, respectively.
They put together a joint festival program.
Steingaden - The Steingaden music club and the local fire department were housed in the immediate vicinity in the Fohlenhof for many years before moving under the same roof in the then newly built fire station in 2003.
“Over the years, this community of convenience has developed into a real shared apartment that not only 'lives' together, but also likes to celebrate together,” says Stephanie Schwarz on behalf of the two clubs.
The two clubs have already organized several festivals together, including the district music festival in 2012. It quickly became clear that the fire department and the music club would also be celebrating their anniversaries together this year, which coincidentally fell in the same year.
While the brass band was first mentioned in writing in 1824 - celebrating its 200th anniversary this year - the volunteer fire department was demonstrably founded in 1874 - and is celebrating its 150th birthday.

Preparations for the festive season, which is planned around Corpus Christi from May 29th to June 2nd, have been underway since mid-2022.
The festival committee is in charge under the leadership of the two board members Stefan Müller (fire department) and Andreas Strauß (music club).
The big anniversary celebration is to be combined with the district music festival of the Allgäu-Swabian Music Association in the Füssen district and the village, which has 3,000 inhabitants, will become a meeting place for brass music enthusiasts and fire fighters from the area.
After the competitions, which take place in mid-May, the people of Steingaden should
“really shake their ears” at the
start of the festival weekend on May 29th: with the
“Voixxbradlern”
, with their repertoire from “Toto” to “Green Day” to to the “Doctors” with something for all musical tastes, “Volle Power Rock.Pop.Brass” is coming to town, according to the event announcement.
The Upper Austrians will be supported this evening by the festival and beer tent-proven
“Saustoimusi”
.

200 years of music association and 150 years of Steinguten fire department: anniversary couple wanted
For everyone who likes it more leisurely, the
classic car meeting
on May 30th is a suitable excursion destination.
There are rarities to discover, the wonderful Alpine foothills can be enjoyed on a tour, the drivers' instinctive skills can be admired during skill driving or brass music, chicken and beer can be enjoyed in the festival tent.
The next day we continue with a marching music competition.
And the fact that the fire brigade and the music club are an unbeatable team, not only in Steingaden, can be proven in the big competition between the clubs in the evening: We are looking for the
“Steingaden anniversary couple”
.
Each local fire brigade band team nominates a couple to compete for this title, with the active support of members of both clubs.
The main prize for the winning couple's clubs is a brewery tour.
At the “
winners party
” that follows, the “Muckasäck” ensure the best atmosphere.
An international
fire brigade competition
as well as a
“Good Neighbor Day”
with a star march – in which the bands from Prem, Wildsteig, Trauchgau, Lechbruck, Peiting, Schabs and Steingaden take part – followed by an
atmospheric evening
in the festival tent are on the program on June 1st.
