Highlights: A look into Gauting's future. The future of the municipality depends very much on the financial development. Both agreed that everything in the area, such as the Bosco community and cultural hall, the library and the swimming pool, wanted to be preserved. Other topics included the implementation of the municipal heat plan, wind energy, geothermal energy and the development of the “StanzSchmid area” on the Würm in Stockdorf. The hosts were “surprised” and “definitely very pleased” by the great response, as Andreas Albath put it.

Gauting - They are not far apart - Gauting's Greens and the Christian Socialists in the local council.

At the invitation of the “Zukunft Gauting” association, representatives of the two largest factions discussed the municipality’s financial situation, voluntary services and, above all, local development on Monday evening in the Bosco.

The old board is also the new board: The discussion between Max Platzer (CSU) and Dr.

Matthias Ilg (Greens) was the general meeting of “Zukunft Gauting” with the regular elections of the club’s leadership.

Dr.

Andreas Albath therefore remains at the head of the citizens' offensive (vice is Markus Proksch, treasurer Tammo Körner), which was founded around the development of the "Karls" on the former school property in order to initiate a referendum.

The future of Gauting depends very much on the financial development of the municipality, both discussants made this clear in unison in the packed Bosco and referred to the ongoing budget discussions.

Max Platzer, the CSU parliamentary group spokesman in the local council, emphasized that “we are currently spending more money than we are earning”.

Therefore, on the one hand, expenses must be checked and, on the other hand, income must be increased.

This is achieved primarily through trade tax, which remains entirely with the municipality.

So more commercial space and new businesses?

Dr.

Matthias Ilg, for his part, pointed out that new commercial areas do not automatically mean bubbling income.

For the Greens, new commercial zone designations to restructure the municipal coffers are not a solution anyway.

“We have to look at every item in the budget and see where we can save,” said the Green parliamentary group spokesman.

Around one million euros would give the community some leeway.

Both agreed that everything in the area, such as the Bosco community and cultural hall, the library and the swimming pool, which was in urgent need of renovation, wanted to be preserved, but the community needed the necessary funds for this.

Increase usage fees and entrance fees?

Shorten opening hours (to save personnel costs)?

For the group it was (and is!) a look into the crystal ball.

Ideally it will probably be a mix of both – new business and annoying savings.

Ilg added that when it comes to commercial space, the main thing is the location; the municipality should use existing and developed land and not build on greenfield sites.

There was agreement on the AOA site that after ten years of planning it finally needed to be developed.

And at the Handwerkerhof, which is considered a successful example of joint action and planning.

Other topics included the implementation of the municipal heat plan, wind energy, geothermal energy and the development of the “StanzSchmid area” on the Würm in Stockdorf.

With the latter, “Zukunft Gauting” fears a possible conflict like the one with “Karls” at the Gauting train station.

The hosts were “surprised” and “definitely very pleased” by the great response, as Andreas Albath put it.
