Highlights: A video game to tell the story of the Sibillini Mountains. The relaunch and valorization of a territory can also happen through video games and edutainment. This is the challenge launched a few months ago by a consortium of companies, public bodies, cultural associations and university teachers. Students from the mountain areas of the provinces of Ascoli Piceno and Fermo were involved, who acquired 'transversal' skills: technical (computer graphics), methodological and organisational.

The relaunch and valorization of a territory can also happen through video games and edutainment.

This is the challenge launched a few months ago by a consortium of companies, public bodies, cultural associations and university teachers who, under the coordination of PlayMarche srl, a spinoff of the University of Macerata, and the Istituto Omnicomprensivo Amandola, won the ministerial tender for schools "The cinematographic and audiovisual language as an object and tool of education and training" issued with DD MI-MICn.861 of 11/03/2022 - Action c) "Visions out of place".


   The "Villages and paths of the Sibillini" route saw the participation of students from the lower secondary schools of Amandola, Montefortino, Santa Vittoria in Matenano, of the Sibillini Interprovincial Comprehensive Institute and students of some classes of the Technical Economic Institute, focusing on the attention to the valorisation of the territory with the use of new languages, developing digital programming skills in upper-class students, through the creation of a package of serious games to talk about the territory in an innovative way.

A project which on the one hand is part of the long and consolidated tradition of the Amandola Omnicomprehensive Institute of experimenting with teaching through cinematographic and audiovisual language.

On the other hand, it is based on partnerships with the University of Macerata, Rainbow spa (the group producing many cartoons and live action films such as the Winx), Eli srl, Ett spa, Officina di Computer Grafica.

Students from the mountain areas of the provinces of Ascoli Piceno and Fermo were involved, who acquired 'transversal' skills: technical (computer graphics), methodological and organisational.

At the presentation event in Santa Vittoria in Matenano (Fermo), all the phases were retraced from the storyboard to the creation of the characters, from game design to branding, up to digital communication.
