The mountain rescue service in Tyrol searches late into the night for people who are believed to have had an accident.

But in vain: so far there is no trace of them.

Pertisau - A member of the mountain rescue service in Tyrol (Austria) suddenly heard mysterious cries for help from male voices near his house on Monday evening (February 5th).

To find out what it was all about, he and his son went looking for the people, according to a press release.

Shortly afterwards they heard cries for help again.

“The person also responded to their calls once, then contact broke off,” the police explained.

The man then called the mountain rescue team for reinforcements.

The operation lasted until 2 a.m.

The rescue workers used search dogs in the forest and helicopters and drones were also involved.

However, there was no trace of those calling for help: “Due to the very dense forest cover, search flights with helicopters and drones were very difficult,” informed the police.

The operation was ultimately ended unsuccessfully.

So far there is no information about the case.

It is not known who the calls for help came from or what led to them.

The police have not yet received a missing person report.

“If there is a change in this regard, a new search operation will be started in consultation with the Maurach am Achensee mountain rescue service,” explained the emergency services.
