Enormous relief from prison for the fallen star chef: Alfons Schuhbeck is leaving the Landsberg prison after less than six months.
He can enjoy freedom in the future.
It doesn't look like a prison: monastery walls, sheep pastures, deciduous trees and an institution garden where sustainable cultivation is carried out: Alfons Schuhbeck moved to the herb prison on Monday!
Monika Groß, the head of the Landsberg JVA, confirmed this to Merkur.
The prison in Andechs-Rothenfeld on Ammersee is a branch of Landsberg and is considered a free-range prison.
Those incarcerated here are allowed to leave the prison for certain periods of time during the day to work.
A huge relief from prison for the 74-year-old!
Does the former celebrity chef get a celebrity bonus?
At least it is noticeable that his imprisonment is made easier for him very early on.
Normally, the Bavarian judiciary only relaxes enforcement 18 months before the end of the sentence.
Schuhbeck was sentenced to three years and two months in October 2022.
He began his sentence on August 23, 2023.
So currently he hasn't even been in prison for six months!
All the trouble came from large-scale tax evasion.
Fonsi managed to get 2.3 million past the state.
Now he has to pay back 1.2 million euros.
However, no repayment is known to date.
Today, Alfons Schuhbeck stands in front of the rubble of his life's work: only a few businesses remain of his corporate empire - such as the spice shops, part of “Schuhbecks Company”.
Insiders assume that the fallen celebrity chef will be involved there again in the next few months.
It is not known when exactly and for how many hours his release will begin.
Letters to the spice shop in Altötting
In any case, the employees at Platzl didn't get to see their boss on Tuesday.
The same applies to the branch in Altötting.
The news is well received there that prison will now be easier for the boss.
He hasn't contacted us yet, says a saleswoman in the Merkur conversation.
“I am sure that he will be very happy when he can work and get involved again.” Shortly before starting prison, Schuhbeck gave the people of Altötting a book signing.
You could see directly on the 74-year-old's face how much the loyalty of his people and the support of his fans are good for him.
The saleswoman shows a thick stack of letters - he sent them all from prison.
Warm words with which he also described that he was being treated well and that he was actually doing quite well.
Now the people in the Altöttinger spice shop are happy when their Fonsi continues to improve.
Uli Hoeneß immediately paid back his tax debts
A lot went differently for Uli Hoeneß: Immediately after his verdict for tax evasion, he remorsefully paid all of his tax debts of 43 million euros: Former Bayern manager Uli Hoeneß behaved in a more exemplary manner than Alfons Schuhbeck.
Both are united by the “visit” to the monastery-prison.
The ex-Bayern boss was imprisoned here from January 2015 - and was chauffeured to the record champions on Säbener Straße during the day.
Not for training, but for work.
That is the purpose of release as a relaxation of imprisonment: the measure is the first step on the path to rehabilitation for criminals.
They should find their way back into society and an honest life
