The Ministry of Health updated tonight (Wednesday) about another malfunction that was discovered in the "Camelion" computer system that is used by some hospitals to administer drugs to patients.
"Consequently and as a security measure, the Ministry of Health instructed the hospitals working on the system to back up the patients' medication sheet in a manual sheet," the Ministry of Health announced, while the issue is still under review.
About a week ago, the Ministry of Health announced a major malfunction in the Kamilion system.
Following the malfunction, the scope of which is still being examined, lists of incorrect medications appeared for some patients who receive them regularly.
The inspection by the Ministry of Health shows that there are dozens of cases.
As a result of the case, there is a serious concern that the wrong drugs were given, or in the wrong dose, which caused a risk in the hospitalization of patients.
However, it is not yet known about a case with clinical significance or about damage caused to the hospitalized.
According to the Ministry of Health, the very existence of the malfunction was discovered ten days ago, and it affected most hospitals in the country - the government ones and the "Kallit" medical centers.
On the other hand, the "Camelion" company, which provides the service to the Ministry of Health, said that the problem was detected already on January 11.
The issue is still under investigation.

The Ministry of Health claims that it is not yet clear when the problem started, and what its origin is.
In addition, the office fears that it started about two months ago and affected patients with repeated hospitalizations.
Kamilion clarified that it was not a cyber attack and that it was a bug in the software, which could have been solved through a version update.
The Ministry of Health advised those hospitalized again in the last two months to verify with the family doctor or the attending physician the medications given to them in the discharge letter, to compare with the previous discharge letter and to see if there are any unfamiliar medications.
