Gräfelfing - Gräfelfing is proud to have the Academy of the German Bakery Crafts on site: it is one of the best-known schools for young bakers in Germany.
It has produced over 6,000 masters since it was founded in 1951.
Mayor Peter Köstler was all the more pleased when the managing director of the state guild association for the Bavarian bakery trade, Stephan Kopp, state guild master Heinrich Traublinger jun.
and academy director Sven Georgi came by for a New Year's visit - in the "luggage" there were samples of the bakery's art such as a traditional New Year's pretzel and - in keeping with the carnival season - various fresh donuts.
“Close and trusting contact with the academy for future bakers is extremely important to us,” emphasizes Peter Köstler.
“We all know how important solid training in traditional crafts is.
We as a community support this as best we can.
In 2018, the academy was expanded and modernized on a large scale, and masters emerge from it every year.
On an area of 5,000 square meters, trainees and candidates for the master's degree learn everything that goes with the job in two training bakeries, a training pastry shop, a training workshop for chocolate and ice cream and another for sales and service.
We are proud to have such a facility locally.”
During the visit to the Gräfelfinger town hall, the focus was on information and exchange on the training offered at the academy location, on the topic of skilled workers and on practical questions.
