The story about the bathing lake and its dilapidated jetty has come to an end for the time being.

With a positive result for fans of cool water, who can breathe a sigh of relief this season.

Eichenau - Because the wooden walkway at the water rescue house will be repaired in the spring for around 2,000 euros.

It should then be released for bathing operations.

This was decided in the most recent local council.

Only Mayor Peter Münster (independent) spoke out against it.

He had already pointed out at the local council meeting in October last year that the water rescue service preferred a swimming island to a jetty.

“After rain events, it is slippery for quite a long time.” There is therefore a risk of slipping there, Münster explained at the time.

Another problem is the different water levels. Sometimes there are almost two meters between the edge of the jetty and the water surface, sometimes the jetty is under water.

The island

Susanne Bierl, the responsible clerk from the building authority, also pointed out once again that a swimming island would cost at least in the mid-five-figure range.

However, repairs can be carried out quite quickly, said the building authority employee.

This made both the mood and the decision-making situation in the local council clear.

Mobility officer Markus Brüstle (Eichenauer Bürger), Martin Eberl (SPD) and Michael Wölfl (CSU) spoke clearly in favor of repairing the bathing jetty.

Marion Behr (Greens) concluded by reminding people to pay attention to accessibility at the bathing jetty.
