He is accused of being the author of a letter, containing death threats, addressed to the then Public Prosecutor of Catanzaro Nicola Gratteri, now head of the Naples Prosecutor's Office, and to Debora Rizza, deputy prosecutor of Catanzaro.
A man, Salvo Gregorio Mirarchi, 33 years old, from Montepaone (Catanzaro), was arrested on charges of threatening a public official, aggravated by the mafia method.
The threatening letter originated from the prison where Salvo Gregorio Mirarchi is detained, who is still detained and on whom the precautionary custody order was served in prison, he is said to be close to 'Ndrangheta circles but is not considered an important exponent of the organized crime.
Mirarchi would have sent the letter at the beginning of 2023 when he was already detained on charges of criminal association aimed at trafficking in narcotic substances and for the illegal possession of a pistol.
In the letter Mirarchi addressed the threats to Gratteri and the Salerno prosecutor, stating that he would implement his intentions against the two magistrates if he were not released from prison by the end of 2023.
From the analysis of the text of the threatening letter, the judicial police identified Mirarchi as the possible perpetrator and, to confirm this, the Salerno Prosecutor's Office arranged for two graphological consultations by the Scientific Police, comparing the writing to two other letters from the same person.
