Highlights: Dispute goes to court: Emmering's ex-mayor should pay the community back money. As mayor, he is said to have deceived the local council about the outcome of property negotiations. The council voted for a more expensive, more complicated and ecologically disadvantageous piped version of a drainage project. When the deception was exposed, the council still implemented the open construction method. The ditch not far from the sports field has now been completed, with a total cost of around 100,000 euros.

Emmering's ex-mayor Max Maier is in a legal dispute with the municipality he once ruled.

It's about money.

Emmering - The term of office of Emmering's ex-mayor Max Maier (Citizens for Emmering) has legal consequences.

On Wednesday, the community and its leader, who divorced in a dispute, will meet in front of the Munich administrative court.

As current mayor Claudia Streu-Schütze confirms to EZ, it's a low five-digit euro amount.

The municipality is demanding this back from Maier via a notice.

The accusation: As mayor, he is said to have deceived the local council about the outcome of property negotiations.

As a result, the council voted for a more expensive, more complicated and ecologically disadvantageous piped version of a drainage project.

When the deception was exposed, the council still implemented the open construction method.

The ditch not far from the sports field has now been completed, with a total cost of around 100,000 euros.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Ebersberg newsletter.)

However, the council is now demanding reimbursement of the additional costs incurred by the community as a result of Maier's alleged deception.

This apparently involves compensation to the company that had already been commissioned to carry out the piping work, which was then reversed, as well as additional planning costs.

The current committee confirmed a corresponding procedure that the local council had already initiated under Maier by majority vote.

“It's difficult for me because I don't know what was said at the time,” said Streu-Schütze about her own role in the process.

“I hope that a good solution can be found,” Streu-Schütze puts it diplomatically.

Her predecessor filed a lawsuit against the decision, which is now leading to litigation.

It is unclear whether Maier would have to be liable privately or through official liability insurance in the event of a conviction.
