The energy transition, the climate emergency and artificial intelligence are reshaping the face of cities, constantly evolving also thanks to technologies and new challenges in architecture and structural engineering.
"The cities of Europe, the world and the future" held at the headquarters of Comin & Partners, thus focused on the changes in urban areas.
As Monica Iacono, CEO of Engie Italia, explained at the event "a smart city is necessarily a crossroads between physical, digital and energy infrastructures. A necessity is to address the decarbonisation of our cities through adequate energy infrastructures".
The event, during which "Fare belle lecittà" was presented, the second issue of Comprere, the geopolitical quarterly of Comin & Partners, saw the participation of Gianluca Comin, president of Comin & Partners, Lelio Alfonso, director of Comprere, Giovanni Castellaneta, former Ambassador to the United States, Laura Lieto, Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Urban Planning of the Municipality of Naples, Antonino Saggio, professor at the Sapienza University of Rome, Monica Iacono, CEO of Engie and Giulio Sapelli, scientific coordinator of the magazine.
And for Lieto "differences and disparities: these are the key words in the urban regeneration process in Naples.
Currently, we are faced with large gaps, which, however, can represent an opportunity. In fact, it is essential to focus on the contents and specificities of the territories, considering that the theme of differences has been at the center of European programming cycles, based on the principles of cohesion and overcoming the gaps themselves.
The relationship between cultural heritage and daily life is a central point. We are working intensely in our city to consider the heritage as a field of experimentation for regeneration projects that understand cultural heritage as a public space, a place of comparison between public stories and different aspirations":
