If it started ten days after the start of the French farmers' protest, and in a much more peaceful manner, the mobilization of Italian farmers took a turn with an unpredictable outcome.
In Milan, Turin, Veneto, Tuscany, Puglia, but also in Sicily and Sardinia, the movement ended up taking hold almost everywhere in the country, with tractors slowing down the roads around the regional capitals.
And, this Wednesday, lines of tractors in unknown numbers are advancing towards Rome, with farmers hoping to take part in a large-scale demonstration on Thursday, surrounding the capital with the help of 1000 to 1500 machines.
Tuesday evening, the farmers were to be received on the stage of the San Remo song festival, the most followed media event in Italy.
