Fatal accident in the Nebelhorn ski area: 81-year-old died on site - attempts at resuscitation were unsuccessful
According to the police, the 81-year-old skier fell over the edge of the piste and hit a properly secured snow cannon.
The notified ski patrol and the rescue helicopter carried out resuscitation measures.
However, the 81-year-old died on site.
Based on the current status of the investigation, third-party negligence can be ruled out.
According to Jörn Homburg, press spokesman for the Oberstdorf Kleinwalsertal Bergbahnen, it cannot be determined whether the skier actually collided with the snow cannon.
The police report was “not precise enough”.
Nobody saw the accident; the skier was only found underneath the snow cannon.
Even concrete traces could not be found in the “hard snow”.
