Finsinger Fischerjugend puts hatchlings in the villages - contributing to the preservation of the population

Finsing - A special day for the youth of the Finsing fishing club is always when the bred offspring of brown trout are released into the breeding tubes in Dorfen once a year.

This year it was that time again, and the fishing club is helping the natural cycle a little.

This year the campaign was financially supported by VR-Bank.

Because the beavers build dams that block the path, the native trout can no longer migrate.

That's why the fishing club helps out and raises the fish until they reach a size of around 25 centimeters.

The fish are then moved to other club waters.

Placing the bred offspring in the orange breeding tubes plays an essential role in protecting the fish species and keeping the population alive, explains the youth leader of the Finsing fishing club, Christian Albert.

The Gantner fishery from Pastetten takes care of the breeding and delivery of the 10,000 brown trout.

“This is a special day,” says Albert happily – and this day has played a big role in the club’s calendar for 15 years.

Putting the brown trout into the breeding tubes is by far not the only thing that the Finsingen fishing youth do.

The fishing club also takes care of frogs and other fish species.

Young people between the ages of 10 and 18 could learn a lot from membership, says Albert.

First of all, fish don't live in cans.

Practical fishing also prepares the boys and girls for the fishing exam.

“But fun is the be-all and end-all in our club,” says Albert.

Enjoying time together in nature is the top prerequisite for membership in the club.

Special knowledge of fishing is not necessary.

But the young people should want to spend their free time doing fish-specific work and, above all, respect the creatures.

The members of the club see themselves not only as fishermen, but also as nature lovers, conservationists and animal lovers.

“Ecological thinking, respect for living beings and nature as well as sustainability are just a few aspects that we see as an obligation for our club,” it says on the Fischer homepage.

And these values are also passed on to the young.

A total of 30 young people from the surrounding communities, including those from Munich or further afield, see the Finsinger Fischerjugend as their first point of contact.

The fishing association also tries to organize many activities for its members.

From excursions to fishing festivals and tent camps, it offers a colorful program.

Coming together is the top priority.

“We are involved everywhere,” says Albert.

The fishing club also strives to collaborate with other clubs: “We have the goal of sprucing up our clubhouse,” explains Albert.

There is still a lot planned for this year.

Putting the offspring of brown trout into the breeding tubes was just the beginning.
