- How did you end up in the casting of “Destination X”?

Hélène BERTIN.

-

By complete coincidence with someone from ITV Studios France who contacted me in a private message on my Instagram account to offer it to me.

At first I thought it was a scam and asked to find out a little more over the phone.

And I came across someone very nice, I had a telephone interview for over an hour.

Then I went to Paris to take general knowledge, logic and memory tests.

And I took sports tests secondly.

Did you know what type of game you were getting into when you left Le Castellet?

The production hid things from us until the last moment.

She couldn't tell us anything.

On the contract I signed at that time, I was going on a treasure hunt in Europe.

It was my very first experience on television, I was not in demand for it so it was absolutely not planned.

How did you experience being confined on the “Destination X” bus?

As a country girl who is used to moving around a lot every day, this was the hardest part.

The first week was very hard, I even wanted to intentionally make a mistake in my location to be eliminated because, psychologically, I was tired.

But I'm not one to give up and I finally held on.

In addition, the outdoor phases were a real rebirth for me, especially in Slovenia.

It did me good mentally.

“My marathon training helped me enormously throughout the adventure”

Hélène Bertin, winner of “Destination X”

How disoriented were you during the trip?

It was very strong and I discovered it by watching the episodes.

When we stay on the bus, it is not because we know where we are but because we were less bad than the person who is eliminated.

For example, I didn't know Pula in Croatia or Bled in Slovenia.

What were the strongest moments of the adventure?

The most difficult moment was the first week when we had a lot of kilometers and a lot of driving time stuck in the bus.

And, at the same time, we don't yet know the game well, we are discovering the rules and the other participants.

On the camera side, it's new too, it's boring.

For the best moment, it's hard to name just one but I really loved Slovenia, playing with our loved ones in Innsbruck Castle and the escape game in Munich.

The final event required a lot of running, was your activity as a marathon runner useful to you?

This helped me enormously throughout the adventure.

It wasn't just for physical endurance, it was especially for mental endurance.

I was lucky to have Julien as an ally during this last stage, I couldn't have had better.

He oriented me very well in Athens.

Faced with an opponent as formidable as Amin in the final, my only fear was of being ridiculous.

I didn't imagine for a single moment that I was going to win.

What are you going to do with your winnings of 50,000 euros?

My husband has already spotted his bike and it was our deal before leaving, he hasn't forgotten it!

(Laughs.) We are also going to travel as a family.

I want to take a road trip this summer by taking the bus again to see everything with my husband and my children.
