An unbearable case of attempted kidnapping in the Var.
This Monday, February 5 in the morning, a 10-year-old girl attending primary school in the town of La Garde escaped the worst.
The young girl, who was waiting patiently in front of her school to start her day of classes, was approached and grabbed by the arm by a threatening individual with a more than worrying profile.
As reported by our colleagues from France Bleu and confirmed to Le
Figaro
by the public prosecutor of Toulon, Samuel Finielz, this individual born in 1995 and already convicted of sexual assault was quickly chased away by a member of the educational community of primary school.
The suspect was then chased by several municipal police officers from the town, soon joined by national police officers from the Toulon police station.
The attacker was released from prison at the end of 2023
This coordinated and rapid action led to the arrest of this individual, who was immediately placed in police custody as part of the opening of an investigation into “attempted kidnapping of a 15-year-old minor”.
This police custody having been extended this Tuesday morning and the investigations continuing, a judicial investigation should be opened Wednesday morning.
Staggering fact: during the twenty minutes which preceded the attempted kidnapping, the suspect had followed another teenage girl for several tens of meters.
The latter, who was heading to her bus stop, was saved at the last minute by a neighbor who was driving nearby and who was able to drop her off at school, safe and sound.
Still according to the Toulon public prosecutor, the suspect had just served a prison sentence and was released from his cell at the end of 2023.
