King Charles has been diagnosed with cancer, Buckingham Palace has announced.
Is there now a change of throne in Great Britain?

But just a day later, Buckingham Palace announced worrying news: King Charles is suffering from cancer.
Does his cancer force King Charles to abdicate?
When King Charles was treated in hospital for a benign enlargement of the prostate, diagnostic tests revealed "a form of cancer," according to an official statement from the palace.
Treatment had already begun, and during this time King Charles was advised by doctors to “postpone public duties.” It is not yet known what form of cancer it is, so it is also unclear what extent it is treatment will have.

The palace announced that King Charles “remains absolutely positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to public service as soon as possible.” With an abdication after just under a year and a half on the throne, Charles III appears to have made a comeback.
So he's not busy at the moment, but his cancer could possibly force him to take this step.

Queen Margrethe II of Denmark (83) showed the way and handed the scepter to her son Frederik (55).
Should Charles make the decision to abdicate as king, his eldest son Prince William (41) would follow him to the throne.
Princess Kate (42) would then be crowned queen, like Camilla at King Charles' side last May.
Should King Charles abdicate, this would also affect Prince George (10), Princess Charlotte (8) and Prince Louis (5), who would each move up one position in the line of succession.

Prince George would then be the new heir to the throne, followed by Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
Prince Harry (39) would be in fourth place, followed by his children with Meghan Markle (42), Archie (4) and Lilibet (2).
If King Charles were to abdicate, Prince Andrew (63) would be ranked 7th in line to the throne, followed by his daughter Princess Beatrice (35), her daughter Sienna (2), Beatrice's younger sister Princess Eugenie (33) and their children August ( 2) and Ernest (turns 1 on May 30th).
However, the last abdication in Great Britain was a while ago.
