An 82-year-old from Rohrdorf was traveling with his 70-year-old wife in the Leitzachtal on his Moto-Guzzi.

Then there was an accident with a car - with dire consequences.

Leitzach

- As the Miesbach police station reports, the collision happened on Tuesday, February 6th, around 12:05 p.m. at the junction of state road 2077 and state road 2010 in the town of Leitzach.

According to initial findings, the Rohrdorf motorcyclist came from the direction of Wörnsmühl with his wife on the pillion and wanted to turn left towards Miesbach.

Just at that moment, a 24-year-old woman from Irschenberg approached in her VW Golf, coming from Leitzacher Berg from Parsberg on the priority road towards Irschenberg.

70-year-old pillion rider seriously injured on motorcycle

During the accident, the VW hit the motorcycle head-on.

The couple was thrown to the ground by the impact.

While the 82-year-old from Rohrdorf escaped with minor injuries, his 70-year-old pillion passenger suffered much worse.

Both remained on the road.

The woman from Irschenberg was slightly injured.

The emergency services treated everyone involved in the accident and took them to Agatharied Hospital.

Both vehicles involved in the accident were totaled (around 15,000 euros for the car and 8,000 euros for the motorcycle) and were towed away.

A special vehicle cleaned the roadway of any spilled operating materials on the instructions of the road manager.

Also on duty were the Parsberg fire department with 15 people and three vehicles, the rescue service with two ambulances, one ambulance, an emergency vehicle and the emergency services manager, the Hausham road maintenance department with one vehicle and the Miesbach police station with a patrol crew.

Despite the size of the operation, according to police, there were only short-term road closures.
