Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu today (Tuesday) criticized the IDF, after an exercise that simulated the kidnapping of a Palestinian by settlers took place. "This fictitious scenario is disconnected from reality, inappropriate and does injustice to an entire and precious public," said Netanyahu, who demanded "answers and an investigation." He also added: "I am not ready to accept this kind of callousness towards our brothers and sisters in Judea and Samaria."
In response to his words, Minister Benny Gantz reprimanded Netanyahu, writing on X (former Twitter): "The Prime Minister's decision to use the event to harm the IDF and unity Political motives are unnecessary, and it also requires an investigation and an apology from him, to the IDF and all citizens of Israel." Gantz also criticized the exercise, writing: "The decision to practice kidnapping Palestinians by the settlers as part of 'Enemy Day' was a mistake.
The IDF will interrogate her and apologize, and that's a good thing."

Yesterday, an exercise simulating the kidnapping of a Palestinian by Israelis in Judea and Samaria took place in the Ephraim regional division.
As part of the exercise, fighters impersonated settlers, wearing vests with the inscription "directed by the enemy".
According to the scenario, the settlers set fire to vehicles in an Arab village in response to the murder of a Jewish toddler, kidnapped a Palestinian, and fled with him to an Israeli outpost.
The exercise provoked opposition among quite a few fighters, who asked not to participate.
Fighters from the Dovdevan unit and Shin Bet forces were jumped into this exercise. At the same time, additional exercises were held in which scenarios such as the kidnapping of soldiers, shooting and explosive attacks, as well as a massacre in one of the Israeli settlements by Palestinians
were simulated .
to avoid committing incidents of nationalist crime.
The IDF Spokesperson responded to the issue, saying that a situation simulating settlers as enemies will not be practiced.
"During a wide-ranging exercise in the Judea and Samaria Division to improve the readiness of the division and the defense in the region to maintain the security of the residents, over a hundred different scenarios were practiced, including extreme scenarios," the statement said.
"The IDF did not practice scenarios simulating people settling in as the enemy, and the markings on the vests in question, whose purpose is to separate a trainee from a trainee, is part of the exercise safety routine.
In the present case it was a mistake to mark them with such an inscription and we apologize for that.
The IDF has a close relationship with the settlement, and it works for their protection around the clock and in cooperation."
