The bankruptcy of the traditional Maisach brewery also came as a complete surprise to the organizers of the Olching folk festival.

Now possibilities are being explored.

Olching - From May 24th, Maisacher beer should actually flow again in the festival tent, in addition to the Olchinger beer from the brewery at Gut Graßlfing (OBM).

That's how it went in the past few years.

Now many people, not just on social networks, are asking themselves the question: What happens next?

This was also the subject of a conversation between representatives of the Maisach brewery and the city of Olching at the beginning of the week.

What came of it?

Brewery boss Michael Schweinberger points to the Olching town hall.

In response to a query from Tagblatt, this informs us that no solution has yet been found.

“The city is still in various discussions, but nothing has been decided yet,” it says.

Keep it open as long as possible

Olching's folk festival speaker Andreas Hörl confirms this.

In his initial reaction to the bankruptcy, he emphasized that he wanted to keep the collaboration with the Maisacher brewery open for as long as possible.

“We stand by the Maisach brewery.

If we can somehow help save a local business, we’ll be there.”

Guido Amendt, the head of the OBM, can at least rule out one alternative: “It is currently not realistic for us to supply the entire festival.”

There is a lack of equipment

The quantity could be produced, but the dispensing equipment is not available, so you would have to borrow it.

According to Amendt, even before the Maisacher Brewery's financial difficulties became known, there were plans to change something and make better use of the synergies.

“In the previous model we paid on top.” One idea was: OBM sells its wheat beer to the Maisacher brewery and they serve it at the folk festival.

This is of course problematic at the moment.

The Maisacher brewery is currently running under the aegis of insolvency administrator Hanns Pöllmann.

“So who would we sell our beer to?” asks Amendt.

But he hopes that things will work out.

And that regionally produced products can still be sold at the folk festival in some form.

Production in Maisach continues in the meantime so that money comes in until the renovation concept is in place.

This must have happened by April.

Private customers in stores and around 40 restaurant owners will continue to be supplied (as reported).
