This Paris deal point brings in so much money that teams of criminals are vying for its control.
And despite the arrests, the next generation is not long in coming so that the business does not stop.
Six men, aged around twenty, were indicted on Friday in Paris for “drug trafficking and criminal conspiracy”.
They are suspected of having participated, since last July, in a profitable cannabis business, established in the hall of a building on rue Riquet (19th century).
Three of them were placed in pre-trial detention.
A fourth requested a deferred debate and two others were placed under judicial supervision.
“There was a series of settling of scores in this sector of the capital,” specifies a source close to the affair.
This violence had already led to the dismantling of a first gang of dealers, then the one who had taken over the business.”
Shootings and arrests
It was on May 31 that this popular neighborhood attracted the attention of the police.
That evening, it was 8:50 p.m., when several residents called the police after hearing around ten explosions in this major artery.
The police arrive in numbers and try to find the origin of the shots.
CCTV cameras show that three hooded and gloved men entered number 66 of the street before going down to the parking lot located in the second basement.
There is no one left there.
On the ground, they found around ten 7.62 mm cartridge cases and two unfired cartridges.
In a vehicle, they get their hands on a pistol, gloves and a hood.
Four cars were damaged by the gunfire.
The investigation is still in the hands of investigators from the Second Judicial Police District.
Ten days later, two men, aged 30 and 33, were arrested before being indicted for drug trafficking.
The first was imprisoned and the second released under judicial supervision.
Justice accuses them of being involved in this point of deal which sells exclusively cannabis resin.
“The idea was to put a stop to this traffic which was generating a climate of insecurity in the neighborhood,” underlines a source close to the matter.
But very quickly, the deal point was taken over by a new team.
On January 30, after weeks of surveillance, eight suspects were arrested in the neighborhood by territorial security investigators (ST75).
During the searches, more than 14 kg of cannabis resin, 44,000 euros and two pistols were seized by the police.
Most of the drugs are found in a man who acts as a nanny.
The latter has already been convicted of murder and is still under judicial supervision in connection with a kidnapping and sequestration case.
During their hearings all these alleged dealers remained silent.
