More precise rules requested.
The CGT Civil Service has asked the administration to clarify the criteria for granting bonuses to civil servants mobilized during the Olympic and Paralympic Games (JOP) this summer, it indicates in a press release published Tuesday.
For the first union of civil servants,
“compensation for constraints is insufficient and not established in the same way depending on
public employers,
” which creates inequality.”
This request comes a few days after the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin announced that exceptional compensation for certain gendarmes and police officers mobilized during the JOP could rise to 1,900 euros.
A circular published in November provided that for all 5.7 million public employees, the
“increase in remuneration”
linked to the Games would not exceed 1,500 euros.

Teleworking “on a voluntary basis”
“The CGT-Public Service will ensure that the measures taken are developed on identical criteria regardless of the service or the employer,” it
assures in its press release, the day after a meeting with the General Management of administration and civil service (DGAFP).
According to the CGT, the administration
“has clearly noted that the circular of November 22, 2023 was not satisfactory, nor precise enough on the criteria to be used to obtain the JO bonus”
.
She would have undertaken to propose more precise criteria during a next meeting with the unions, scheduled for mid-March.
Progress would also have been obtained on compensation for teleworking, which former Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne
“strongly”
encouraged the administration to do in her November circular, in order to avoid transport congestion.
According to the union,
“the DGAFP is committed to retaining the principle of compensation for each day teleworked even if it is necessary to lift the ceiling on the number of days per year giving right to this compensation”
.
Currently, public officials are entitled to compensation of 2.88 euros per day of teleworking, up to 253.44 euros per year - which corresponds to a maximum of 88 annual days of teleworking.
The use of remote work must be done
“on a voluntary basis”
only, insists the CGT in its press release.
