The municipality of Planegg is making do with around ten percent less money this year than in the record year of 2023 - but remains well above the 100,000 million euro mark for the second time in a row.

Planegg

- Treasurer Katharina Gaspers presented the draft budget with a total volume of 124.5 million euros to the main, finance and culture committee of the Planegg local council at the most recent meeting.

“We remain debt-free,” she said.

The fact that the municipality will probably have to pay an additional 1.7 million euros for the extension of the Feodor-Lynen-Gymnasium (we reported) does not change this.

At the end of the year the reserves should amount to 4.4 million euros.

This sum will shrink to 3.85 million euros in 2025.

In 2026 the municipality would slip into the red, but now wants to plan in such a way that it can get back part of an internal loan that it granted to the company operating underground line 6, Gemeindewerk Planegg (U6 GwP).

The rest of the 7 million euros is to be repaid in 2027.

42.2 million for the district levy

Trade tax, the largest item of income, is estimated at 32 million euros this year.

In 2023, the treasurer's office had expected 28 million euros, but in the end it came out to 38.7 million euros.

1.5 million of these are “doubtful claims,” said Gaspers.

It is therefore not clear whether the community will actually receive it.

When it comes to income tax, Planegg expects an increase of 7.5 percent to 10.8 million euros.

The largest item on the expenditure side this year is the district levy, which will amount to 42.4 million euros.

This corresponds to an increase of 15.2 million euros or 56 percent compared to 2023 and is primarily due to the municipality's high trade tax revenue in 2022. At that time, the municipality took 82.8 million euros, also due to a one-off special effect from a company a.

Two years later, the district levy automatically shoots up.

However, the local council has taken precautions and parked 24 million in a special reserve.

12.8 million euros are earmarked for personnel expenses, almost 1 million more than in the previous year's budget.

It remains to be seen whether the money will actually be spent in its entirety.

“We cannot fill many positions due to the shortage of skilled workers,” said Gaspers.

Because that was also the case in 2023, 1.5 million euros less were called up than planned.

There are currently 25 open positions in the municipal administration.

2.8 million for building maintenance

The funds for building maintenance amount to 2.8 million euros in the draft budget, 650,000 euros go to the Planegger fire station and 250,000 euros to the police station.

The office building on Josef-von-Hirsch-Straße1, which is over 60 years old, needs to be upgraded so that the police can stay there until a new building is completed.

Planegg would like to be generous as usual when it comes to club subsidies.

In addition to the 440,000 euros already earmarked for the sports clubs, 15,200 euros were included for SV Planegg-Krailling for the LED conversion of the tennis hall, travel costs for minors and a defibrillator.

The funding for cultural associations amounts to almost 420,000 euros.

And the Evangelical Lutheran Church Community of Planegg-Stockdorf can count on 50,000 euros for the renovation of the wooden supports in the Planegg Forest Church.

In response to Peter von Schall-Riaucour's (PP&M) suggestion to talk about “cost-conscious budgeting” instead of saving, Mayor Hermann Nafziger replied: “Saving is the right word, spending wisely.” The committee unanimously recommended that the local council approve the figures .

This will deal with the budget on February 29th.
