Please note: Israelis buy plane tickets - and receive messages from the company about canceling the order Israel today

2024-02-06T10:20:40.778Z

Highlights: More than 20 airlines are active in the airport these days and the numbers are expected to increase soon. There are still dozens of airlines that have not yet returned to Israel and it is not clear when they will return for sure. Many airlines cancel the flights to Israel until a certain date, but from that date, they sell tickets, even though they have not definitely and definitively decided to return to Israel on that date. Wizz Air and Ryanair have also recently canceled quite a few flights to and from Israel following adjustments to the flight schedule and the reduction of operations.

More than 20 airlines are active in the airport these days and the numbers are expected to increase soon.

However, there are still dozens of airlines that have not yet returned to Israel and it is not clear when they will return for sure.

However, many of the foreign airlines that have not yet returned to Israel are selling airline tickets.

We recently received many inquiries from Israelis who believed in the fact that the foreign airlines were selling tickets for future dates and interpreted the matter as a certain return of those companies to Israel.

The mere sale of tickets does not indicate the return of those airlines to Israel.

The explanation is this: many airlines cancel the flights to Israel until a certain date, but from that date, they sell tickets, even though they have not definitely and definitively decided that they will return to Israel on that date.

As the date approaches, many companies choose to extend the validity of the cancellations to Israel and thus, in fact, cancel the flights of many Israelis who were sure they were supposed to fly, but in fact were left without a flight.

One example of this can be seen in EasyJet flights, which until a few days ago sold flights for the beginning of March.

Many Israelis purchased plane tickets for the beginning of March, but a few days ago the company sent cancellation notices to the purchasers of the flights for the first two weeks of March and postponed her return to Israel for another two weeks.

As of today, easyJet's intended return date according to its flight schedule is March 17, but in practice, this date can also be postponed again and again, as quite a few airlines have done in recent months.

Wizz Air and Ryanair have also recently canceled quite a few flights to and from Israel following adjustments to the flight schedule and the reduction of operations in Israel following the war.

Wizz Air is scheduled to return to Israel on March 1, according to the official announcement published by the company, while Ryanair already returned to Israel on February 1.

What slightly increases the certainty of the return of foreign airlines to Israel, are the official announcements, the main of which we are publishing here in Israel today.

However, there are companies that announced a return to Israel and yet rejected the return, for example, Air Europe twice announced an official return to Israel and postponed the return a few weeks before the official return.

It is important to remember that if the airline is the one that cancels the flight, the passengers will be able to get their money back according to the law.
