Rai TV, the Italian state broadcaster, on Tuesday appealed to the Council of State, Italy's highest administrative court, against a Regional Administrative Court (TAR) ruling that confirmed a 123,498 euro fine on the TV company "for the alleged advertising on the social network Instagram" during the 2023 Sanremo Festival.
Rai said it was "trusting in the full legitimacy of its actions, also in relation to any fiscal aspects of the affair".
It added that the ruling "in no way affects the 2024 edition of the Festival, which begins this evening".
