Mengoni, as co-host, tiptoes into Sanremo
One year after his victory at the Ariston with Due Vite, Marco Mengoni returns to the festival, called by Amadeus as co-host.
"In truth, I feel like I have never left Sanremo, as if I had fallen asleep for a second and I'm still here", says an emotional Mengoni in the press room in a new guise.
"From this point of view I feel lucky, not everyone will have this opportunity. And then I attract the envy of my friends because tonight I will be able to say: 'the maestro conducts the orchestra...'. I'm really happy."
However, the singer from Ronciglione, who has just announced a new stadium tour, does not hide his emotion.
"I'm sweating, but I pretend to be impassive: I know how to pretend well. I tried all the voices imaginable so as not to appear emotional. I studied a lot and took some things from old festivals."
Mengoni then thanked Amadeus and the authors because "they left me the freedom to express myself. What I proposed and wanted to propose was accepted. But by doing another job, I tiptoe in, trying to bring myself into the field of truth and honesty. Also because I wouldn't know how to do otherwise".
Soldi: 'It's my last festival, Rai needs unity'
"This Sanremo is the third for me, and it will also be the last as president, because this extraordinary experience at the top of the company will end after three years, as was the intention from the beginning.
