A serious accident occurred near Zellsee on Tuesday morning.
A 28-year-old driver was seriously injured and was taken to hospital by rescue helicopter.
Wessobrunn - As the police report, the 28-year-old Peitinger was driving his car on the state road St 2057 from Zellsee towards Weilheim around 7:15 a.m. when the accident happened.
According to the police, in a long left-hand bend, the man from Peitingen lost control of his car due to excessive speed, which veered off the road to the right, crashed into a tree and then came to a stop in an adjacent meadow.

The car was so badly damaged in the collision that the 28-year-old was trapped in his vehicle.
Emergency services from the Weilheim fire department who were alerted had to free the seriously injured man from the wreckage.
A rescue helicopter was called and then took the man from Peitingen to the Murnau Accident Hospital for further treatment.
According to the police, the 28-year-old's completely destroyed car suffered a total loss of around 15,000 euros.
According to the police, the state road had to be closed for around an hour and a half while the accident was being investigated.
The Weilheim fire department redirected traffic during this time.
