After serving as a filming location, the Kremlin-Bicêtre intercommunal swimming pool is transformed into a cinema hall. Wednesday February 7 at 7 p.m.

“Le Grand Bain” seen from the pool is what the Kremlin-Bicêtre intercommunal swimming pool is offering this Wednesday, February 7.

For its first aquacine session, the swimming pool hit hard: it is the ideal place to present the feature film.

Indeed, the latter was partly filmed on location.

Gilles Lellouche and his team visited this Val-de-Marnaise swimming pool several times in 2017. Seven years later, instead of Benoît Poelvoorde, Guillaume Canet, Leïla Bekhti and Virginie Efira, it is the spectators who are invited to occupy the same pool.

If the Olympic swimming pool has already been the subject of several filmings in the past, the one that left the biggest impression remains “Le Grand Bain”.

And in particular the last scene: the final performance of the team, where the seven new athletes participate in the men's synchronized swimming world championships in Norway.

Filmed entirely in the Kremlin-Bicêtre swimming pool, the scene was rehearsed and filmed by the teams in 2017.

On the screen, seven men battered by life decide to learn synchronized swimming.

Coached by two atypical ex-champions - Delphine, alcoholic, and Amanda, paraplegic - they are preparing for the World Championships organized in Norway.

The dramatic comedy released in 2018 was a great success with 4.2 million admissions.

With ten nominations in 2019, the film won a César for best supporting actor for Philippe Katerine.

Water at 31 degrees

On the spectator side, the required swimwear remains unchanged, with one exception, the cap will not be obligatory!

For public comfort, the water temperature will also increase.

Usually at 27 degrees, it will reach 31 degrees to make the 1h30 viewing time pleasant.

Paul-Henry Schiepan, chief of staff at the Kremlin-Bicêtre town hall, does not rule out organizing other sessions if the first is a success: “But let's wait and see if the event finds its audience!

".

A capacity of 300 places is announced for this first session.
