The evacuees are already leaving the hotels, and now the various hotels are offering benefits to vacationers • The CEO of the Hotel Association: "We expect and hope for Israeli tourists"

At the beginning of October, right after one of the major disasters that befell the State of Israel, over 120 thousand Israelis evacuated their homes, most of them to the various hotels throughout the country.

The population in Eilat doubled following the arrival of tens of thousands of evacuees to the southern city, and Tel Aviv, Haifa, Jerusalem, the Dead Sea, Netanya and many other cities took in the evacuees from the south and the north, so that the hotels became the new homes of those who had to leave their homes against their will and live in the various hotels.

As mentioned, the initial number of evacuees was more than 120,000, but as time passed, the numbers decreased, with the most significant decrease being felt in recent weeks, when many of the evacuees find permanent homes in the various cities throughout the country and try to create a routine of life in residences and leave the hotels.

From the data that came to Israel today, it appears that as of today, more than half of the evacuees have already left the hotels and at this point, there are less than 50 thousand evacuees who are staying in the various hotels in Israel.

The tens of thousands of evacuees who are currently in the hotels are scattered in about 350 hotels throughout the country, when at this stage, they choose not to unite the evacuees in order to prevent them from another move that would complicate their daily lives.

It is important to remember that many of the hotels in the north have been closed and cannot host vacationers or evacuees.

Following the departure of many evacuees from the hotels, there is a drop in prices and special offers for vacationers, with the aim of returning them to the hotels.

Yesterday we published here the initiative of the municipality of Eilat that will pay NIS 300 for waste, to those who will come to the city during the month of February in the middle of the week and will also be able to enjoy the best hotels in the city at prices of up to NIS 500 per night.

In addition, there are significant discounts for reservations and a general drop in prices in hotels in Israel.

Sion Detauker, CEO of the Hotel Association: "When the war broke out on October 7, the hotels in Israel were the first to mobilize for the benefit of the civilian home front, we wholeheartedly hosted the guests of the conflict line.

Now, it is evident that half of the evacuees are already on their way to alternative residences."

In addition, Detauker noted that these days the hotels are preparing for the Passover holiday: "Israeli hotels expect and hope for Israeli tourists, airing holidays are required in such a complex period".
