King Charles himself has reduced the number of so-called “working royals”, which now poses a challenge for the British royal family.

At 73 years old, Princess Anne is already working tirelessly, and Charles' younger brother Prince Edward (59) and his wife, Duchess Sophie (59), will certainly also take on appointments.

However, the greatest responsibility will lie with heir to the throne Prince William.

It remains to be hoped that the monarch will be able to become active again soon - this is what is known about his condition after King Charles' cancer diagnosis.
