So what, the families of the abductees are allowed to do anything, demonstrate anywhere and say anything?
That's it, yes.
Even with the sincere hope that they will not become such, the status of the families of the abductees is the same as the status of bereaved families.
Faced with the terrible loss of the latter just like the terrible ignorance of the former, the citizen can only turn a deaf ear, politely listen to their cry, nod, feel their pain - and then act according to his conscience and faith: he will
be convinced - he will support their position, he will not be convinced, he will reject any deal outright Possible, but will never confront them.
There will be those who will say that this elementary politeness has passed from Israeli society a long time ago, we all remember how Knesset members scolded Hadar Goldin's mother for example.
But we haven't seen such an ugly campaign, which ended in acts of violence (sporadic, at least so far), for a long time.

After all, between those who shout "now, now" (the reference is not to the family members, as they are allowed to say anything, these are to the professional demonstrators who stood to their left only to protest against the government's lack of hand), and those who seem to really long for the IDF to crush Hamas in its tunnels, on The heads of the abductees, we find the majority of the people, who think roughly like this:

There is no wound in Israeli society that this method will not try to contaminate, but the ongoing drop in the polls, which stopped somewhere in the region of 18 mandates, shows that it is possible that this time a cure has also been found for this autoimmune disease:
the reservists who fight shoulder to shoulder - from religious Zionism and Meretz, when their parents meet in Ham To the citizens (by the way, we would advise the "prime minister's entourage" to really volunteer from time to time - and not just for the purpose of a public relations photograph), once again they will not rush to call each other "saboteurs" or "traitors".
This is the prime minister's nightmare, this is the hope of all of us: the poison machine will continue to spread poison in every direction, but the people of Israel will prove to be even stronger than it.
