Katja Burkard talks about her menopause at the “Kölner Treff” – and doesn’t leave out any detail.
The “Point 12” moderator wants to remove taboos from the topic.
Cologne – The “Kölner Treff” is entering the next round.
On November 3rd, Susan Link (46) and guest presenter Wayne Carpendale (46) again welcomed great guests: including actress Muriel Baumeister (52), top chef Björn Freitag (50) and presenter Katja Burkard (58).
The latter spoke bluntly on the ARD talk show about her menopause and the emotional roller coaster that comes with it.
Katja Burkard wants to remove taboos from the topic of menopause
Katja Burkard is not only a presenter, but also an author.
At the end of September 2019 she published her book entitled “Menopause?
No panic!".
At the “Kölner Treff” the presenter talks about it again.
Because Katja Burkard wants to remove taboos from the topic and clarify it.
At first she didn't even notice that she was already going through menopause.

“I always thought: menopause meant hot flashes.
And if you don’t have it yet, then you don’t have menopause,” says the presenter honestly.
But then she would have noticed changes in herself.
“I was like a pit bull terrier – very, very aggressive all of a sudden,” remembers Katja Burkard.
“I'm actually a very positive person.
But then suddenly I fell into holes where the ground opened up to me.
Or I had to take it to the post office in a package after work.
Normally I don't even notice that I'm doing something like that and I thought: Oh, God.
“I can’t do it, I’m having a nervous breakdown,” says the “Point 12” presenter, describing her emotional state at the time.

Speaking of Katja Burkard: “TV total” had only been running for a few minutes when Sebastian Pufpaff had to sit out after a (simulated) injury.
RTL veteran Katja Burkard took over for him.
