Another stop could save passengers, especially students, a lot of time in the future.

The Krün municipal council has made a fundamental decision on this.

Krün

– Alois Kramer (CSU) thinks it is a “super idea”, his parliamentary group colleague Anneliese Albrecht thinks it is an “absolute win”.

And Sandra Steinhauser (Liste Klais) “definitely wants to get started as quickly as possible”.

It must be something groundbreaking that the Krün local council has launched unanimously and with so much praise in a fundamental decision.

In fact, it is “just” another bus stop – but one that is supposed to save passengers a lot of time.

Because Krüner, Wallgauer or Walchenseer, who commute with the bus line 9608 between Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Mittenwald (alternatingly via Tennsee or Schmalensee) and Kochel am See, need good seating for this connection.

Because on the Tennsee/Barmsee tour, the bus literally leaves Krün on the left on the way to Mittenwald.

Instead, the train station is headed for Mittenwald.

There you wait about 20 minutes for train passengers from Innsbruck.

And so, for example, for a learner driver from Obernach, this trip becomes a real test of patience.

So it's no wonder that parents often pick up their children in Klais by car to save them the annoying wait.

“This bus is really very unattractive for students,” explains Mayor Thomas Schwarzenberger (CSU).

“Unacceptable for students,” adds local councilor Alois Kramer.

As early as spring 2023, the town hall boss met with traffic experts and also federal representatives on site to talk about a possible bus stop directly at the entrance to the Krüner industrial area.

“The signals were positive,” confirms Schwarzenberger, who can also expect around 50 percent funding for this project.

Once the negotiations with the federal government, which owns the land, have been completed and the subsidy issue has been clarified, a generous indentation will be created on Federal Highway 11.

In the future, the bus that comes from Tennsee will no longer drive past the South industrial area, but will turn off the B 2 at the Krüner Spange.

At the future stop, passengers from Krün will be able to get off early relatively close to town and ideally walk or cycle home - saving time by at least 20 minutes.
