For Alfons Schuhbeck there is the first change after almost five and a half months of imprisonment in the Landsberg prison.
What will change for him in the Rothenfeld branch - and when he will be allowed to work again: an overview of the most important questions and answers.
On Monday, Alfons Schuhbeck (74) was transferred from the Landsberg prison to the branch in Rothenfeld near Andechs.
There he now has to serve the majority of his prison sentence for tax evasion (three years and two months).
But what's next for the star chef, who has been behind bars since August?
tz answers the most important questions:
Can Fonsi now work in Munich again?
No!
It “cannot be confirmed that prisoner Schuhbeck was granted release,” says government director Dr.
Harald Eichinger, who is the deputy head of the institution in Rothenfeld.
According to the Bavarian Ministry of Justice, “release” means “when a prisoner is allowed to regularly pursue employment outside of the institution without the supervision of prison staff.”
This measure is a relaxation of enforcement.
However, it has not yet been granted to Schuhbeck.
“That’s why it can’t be confirmed that he’ll be working for a private company again from now on,” says Eichinger.
A newspaper reported that Schuhbeck now wanted to work in the spice shop on Platzl again during the day.
According to Eichinger, this is not legally possible.

When will Schuhbeck receive further freedom?
According to the Ministry of Justice, in order to grant relaxations in enforcement, it is necessary “that the risk of escape, the commission of new crimes and other abuse can be ruled out with sufficient certainty”.
According to the authorities, Fonsi is apparently not that far along yet.
The institution decides whether to grant relaxations “at its own discretion”.
The prerequisite is a positive prison record.
Depending on the circumstances of the individual case, “executions could initially be granted under the supervision of correctional officers, followed by accompanied and unaccompanied exits of increasing duration and - with further probation - release,” the ministry said upon request.
Is Schuhbeck allowed to cook in Rothenfeld now?
No.
Because in the institution “we don't cook ourselves; rather, the branch office is supplied with warm food every day by the main institution,” says prison boss Monika Groß.
It's a shame for the around 100 prisoners...
