The fastest connection from the KIM commercial area to the subway at the Großhadern Clinic is currently the X920.

The signs for the preservation of the X920 express bus are poor.

The line that connects the Kraillingen industrial area KIM with the subway and S-Bahn is now set to end even earlier than last thought.

The decision will be made on Thursday in the Starnberg district committee.

Krailling

- Last week, Krailling's mayor Rudolph Haux once again emphasized in an interview with the Münchner Merkur how important he considers the X920 express bus to be.

But Starnberg's district administrator Stefan Frey maintains that he wants to discontinue the line at the end of 2025.

Now this should happen even earlier.

The district would probably have to pay back funding amounting to a quarter of a million euros if the line, which is currently still in trial operation, is discontinued again at the end of 2024, Frey explained to the Starnberg district council's mobility committee on Tuesday.

On the other hand, there would be annual costs for the district in the millions from 2025.

Frey called the line that connects the Kraillinger Innovation Mile (KIM) KIM commercial area with the U 6 at the Großhadern Clinic and the S-Bahn lines S 8 in Gilching-Argelsried and S 4 in Fürstenfeldbruck a “luxury offer” that the district wants couldn't afford.

The connections are ensured by other lines, even if the journey times are slightly longer.

The express bus connection to the S 4 in Fürstenfeldbruck will no longer be available anyway, as the Fürstenfeldbruck district has now officially announced that it will withdraw from financing the

Changed lines of the X910

The connection between the Kraillinger area and the subway is to be maintained by changing the route of the X910, which runs between the Großhadern Clinic and Weßling.

The line is to be extended from Weßling to Geltendorf and thus become a nationally important line.

In the long term, 50 percent of the costs would be borne by the Free State.

However, this also comes with requirements, such as the number of stops and the minimum average speed.

This limits the options for route planning.

Starting the KIM would mean “too big a swerve,” explained Frey.

This has already been checked in the past.

According to Frey, the plan is for the X910 to travel to Krailling after its stop in Gauting and from there on to the Großhadern Clinic.

Forst Kasten would no longer be served.

It is still unclear whether the X910 will then drive via Planegg and possibly Gräfelfing to Großhadern or via Neuried.

However, the change is unlikely to be implemented until the end of 2025.

With a vote of 9:3, the Mobility Committee voted to discontinue the X920 at the end of the year.

The decision will be made by the district committee on Thursday.

Mayor Haux, who had followed the debate in the mobility committee, told the Munich Merkur that he would try to the last to convince the district councilors of the necessity of the X920, or at least that it would then be necessary to connect Krailling to the X910.

The community could then possibly organize a connection to KIM with the companies there, for example by shuttle bus.

Haux also complained that the municipality was provided with too little data on utilization and income, especially by the MVV.

The option of Krailling's financial participation in the X920 was never discussed with the community.
