"78 people responded, from all over Italy and with very high level profiles, to the second edition of the Giuseppina Mai Foundation project 'Women in Stem', which was created with the aim of supporting female students enrolled in Stem disciplines to achieve their own career paths, encouraging the at the same time the increase in the presence of women in the country's productive fabric and within the world of research and innovation".
The initiative, aimed - explains a note - at female students enrolled in the first year of the master's degree course in the disciplines 'science, technology, engineering, mathematics', rewarded the 8 most deserving ones, who won scholarships worth 3 thousand euros available from the Giuseppina Mai Foundation of Confindustria, collaboration with Assolombarda as part of the STEAMiamoci project, Bracco Foundation and Space Work.
"It is important to increase the presence of women in the STEM disciplines, which represent the skills of the future and which are increasingly in demand in the world of work", underlines Diana Bracco, president of the Mai Foundation: "The Women in STEM project represents a concrete contribution to valorising the female component in "within an integrated system of research, development and innovation. A system, based on public-private partnerships and cogeneration, which has an essential role in overcoming challenges such as digital, green, energy and health" he added.
