The district office is now also involved in the dispute over the cycle path on Heimstettener Straße in Kirchheim.

A supervisory complaint was filed against Mayor Stephan Keck.

Kirchheim - Who is to blame that several cyclists have already fallen and injured themselves on the new cycle path on Heimstettner Straße in Kirchheim?

Christian Eichhorn from Kirchheim sees the community, namely Mayor Stephan Keck (SPD), as having a duty to defuse this route, which he has identified as a danger zone.

“Because of the ongoing and obvious structural deficiencies, I filed a supervisory complaint with the Munich District Office against Mayor Keck,” explains Christian Eichhorn.

In the 1990s he sat on the Kirchheim local council for the United Free Voters' Community (VFW).

Together with the Greens, they are currently sending Christian Zenner into the race as mayoral candidate against Stephan Keck.

The mayoral election is on February 25th, as Max Böltl (CSU) was elected to the state parliament.

Pedestrians happy about separation

When Heimstettner Straße was rebuilt, a cycle path was also built based on the so-called Copenhagen model.

The cycle path was separated from the road on the left and the sidewalk on the right by eight centimeter high granite curbs.

Eichhorn wants this to at least be flattened by a sloping embankment and sees this confirmed by a statement from the ADFC.

Mayor Stephan Keck rejects the allegations.

The route is in accordance with the rules.

“Everything is regulated legally.” Of course, the district office, as the supervisory authority, receives a statement.

Keck assumes that there are no omissions on the part of the local council, planners, construction companies and administration during construction.

He also gets a lot of feedback that pedestrians are happy about the clear separation from the bike path.

To classify the supervisory complaint tool: Some mayors collect dozens of them;

depending on how contentious the local council or citizens are.
