arrested in Cañuelas
after they tried to sell the cell phone that belonged to a
chef who was found beaten to death and with signs of asphyxiation
in his home in the Buenos Aires town of
San Clemente del Tuyú
.
The discovery of the body occurred last Sunday in a house located at 4000 Asturias Street, between 79 and 80, three blocks from the bus terminal of that town in the
La Costa district
.
According to police sources, the
54-year-old
victim , who was identified as
Daniel Enrique Godoy
, worked as a cook at the Termas Marinas Park in San Clemente.
That weekend he had to do his work day, but he never arrived.
For this reason, his colleagues called the police, since it was unusual for him to be absent.
Police officers from the local police station went to Godoy's home and
found him dead, with signs of beatings and asphyxiation
.
In addition, they observed that the house was in disarray, so they began to investigate a
possible homicide during a robbery
.
Likewise, they confirmed that
the victim's
Chevrolet Prisma was missing .
Then, they began to analyze the security cameras in the area.
In this way, they determined that that car left San Clemente del Tuyú heading to the northeast of the province of Buenos Aires.
A 20-year-old young man and a 15-year-old teenager were arrested for the chef's crime.
In this context,
an 18-year-old teenager
showed up at the Los Pozos de Cañuelas detachment to
hand over a cell phone that a man had wanted to sell her
.
The young woman's parents knew about the dubious past of her suspect, so they accompanied her to the police station.
Not only did she give them the phone number, but she also provided the information about the vehicle that man was driving: it was Godoy's Chevrolet Prisma.
Personnel from the Departmental Directorate of Investigations (DDI) Dolores
located the main suspect, a 20-year-old young man named Franco Porcel
, in that city located just over 50 kilometers southwest of the Federal Capital.
She had with him the keys to the Chevrolet, which she had left at a tire shop in the area.

Both suspects lived in San Clemente.
