The woman suspected of having killed her 5-year-old son on Saturday in Noisy-le-Grand was indicted and her partner placed in police custody in the south of France, AFP learned on Wednesday from the Bobigny prosecutor's office and from a source close to the investigation.
This 36-year-old woman was taken into custody on Saturday for murder of a minor under 15 years old.
The debate on his pre-trial detention will be held on Thursday, the prosecution said.
According to a source close to the investigation, confirming information from Objectif Gard, the mother's partner went to the Nîmes (Gard) police station on Tuesday around 11:30 a.m., knowing he was wanted.
He was placed in police custody and is being questioned by investigators from the Minor Protection Brigade of the Paris judicial police responsible for the investigations, added the same source.
The Bobigny public prosecutor's office did not confirm this information.
The family had already been the subject of educational monitoring
Around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, firefighters intervened at the family home in Noisy-le-Grand (Seine-Saint-Denis) for a 5-year-old child, who "fell in the bathtub", according to his mother, who had reported to AFP a police source.
An hour after their intervention, the boy in cardio-respiratory arrest died.
The boy's bruised body prompted them to call law enforcement.
Two other children, born in 2013 and 2016 and present at the home, were temporarily placed.
According to the prosecution, the family had already been the subject of educational monitoring, a child protection measure offered to parents facing difficulties.
