At its most recent meeting, the Königsdorf local council created further requirements for the construction of the solar park near Mooseurach.

Citizens are involved at an early stage.

Königsdorf - It will be 23.13 hectares in size and - if everything goes well - produce around 20,000 megawatt hours of electricity annually from spring 2025 - two and a half times the energy that the community of Königsdorf itself consumes during this period.

The planned solar park near Mooseurach, in which the municipality, the estate of the same name, Energie Südbayern GmbH and 17er Oberlandenergie GmbH want to participate, would undoubtedly be a step towards energy self-sufficiency.

At its most recent meeting, the local council created further conditions for the construction by - unanimously - approving the early participation of citizens and those responsible for public affairs as part of the change in the zoning plan.

In a further vote, the committee approved the draft for the project-related development plan SO Solarpark Mooseurach.

Decision with impact: A 23 hectare solar park is to be built here

Mayor Rainer Kopnicky (CSU) had previously discussed important key points of the open-space photovoltaic system, which is estimated to cost 16 million euros.

According to the town hall boss, the entire solar park will “not be visible from the outside” once it is completed, meaning it will fit perfectly into the landscape, a fen.

The moor is also to be rewetted - which should bind around 8,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.

“We want to kill two birds with one stone, generate electricity and give something back to nature.” Kopnicky called this a “big challenge”.

The first step towards this is “the participation of the population and all those responsible for public affairs”.

Levels are set to monitor the water level

Building authority chief André Murach then went into more detail.

The plan is not to build the solar modules higher than four meters, but they must be at least 1.10 meters away from the ground.

A distance of five meters is provided between the individual rows of modules.

The necessary technical buildings should be a maximum of three meters high.

The width of the access roads is limited to five meters.

The area is enclosed by a chain link fence with a maximum height of 2.20 meters.

The use of pesticides is not permitted; if possible contaminated sites are found during construction, the district office must be informed immediately.

According to André Murach, other points such as species and monument protection, planting, water management and telecommunications lines would also be taken into account.

In addition, “additional gauges will be set to monitor the water level.”

Bernhard Woisetschläger reminded people to take extreme weather events into account when planning the facility.

According to the UBL council, he heard that the heavy snowfall at the beginning of December completely destroyed a solar park with three-story module stands.

“30 centimeters of wet snow can quickly become a problem.” He also suggested being “vigilant and prepared” when it comes to development.

The substation is located in Geretsried, “it is our streets like Grundstrasse that are affected by the laying of cables and lines.”

Deputy head of the town hall proposes an information event for Königsdorf citizens

Vice Mayor Sebastian Seidl (CSU) suggested information events for citizens who would like to contribute financially to the project.

Town hall boss Kopnicky thought it was a good idea, but immediately cautioned that the solar park was not a classic citizen participation in the sense of a cooperative, for example.

“It would be possible to have a limited participation in which there would be a fee or interest after a certain period of time.” (peb)
