As heir to the throne, Prince William is expected to represent his father King Charles, who is suffering from cancer.
But his main focus lies elsewhere.
London – How are things going in the British royal family after King Charles III's cancer diagnosis?
(75) further?
While the monarch will carry out his state business from home, he is not attending any public appointments for the time being on the advice of doctors.
Other members of the royal family have to step in for him, such as his son and heir to the throne, Prince William.
But the 41-year-old actually has other priorities.
Despite King Charles' cancer, Prince William wants to take care of his Kate above all else
In the event of the King becoming ill, the distribution of responsibilities is clearly regulated in the monarchy of the United Kingdom.
This allows Charles, who emotionally sent a clear message, to delegate some tasks to state councilors.
As a rule, these are his spouse Camilla (76) and the first four people in line to the throne who are older than 21 years.
So Prince William and his brother Prince Harry (39), Charles' brother Prince Andrew (63) and his eldest daughter Princess Beatrice (35).

Since Harry, who arrived quickly from the USA but only saw his father briefly, and Andrew do not attend royal appointments for various reasons, his sister Princess Anne (73) and his youngest brother Prince Edward (59) will also be there at Charles' request at the end of 2022 ) were appointed state councilors.
In London, Camilla and William are expected to take the brunt of royal duties.
Prince William is attending royal appointments again for the first time after his break
William therefore ended his self-imposed break early.
On Wednesday (February 7th) he will return to his public engagements with two events: one in Windsor Castle, one in London.
But it should be over for the rest of the week.
He wants to devote himself again to his wife Duchess Kate (42), who is recovering after abdominal surgery, and to the children, writes the
Daily Mail
online.
"The prince has always made it clear that his priority is to support his wife and family for now - and he has given no timetable for this,"
Daily Mail
quoted an unnamed source as saying.
Insiders also don't believe William will continue his royal duties full-time.
William also has no plans to visit his brother Harry during his visit to King Charles III.
to meet, reports
The
Sun.
So no solution is to be expected in the royal brotherly dispute between William and Harry.
