A 47-year-old was injured in a kitchen fire in an apartment building in Neuhausen.

The fire department rescued other residents from the smoke-filled building.

Munich - In a kitchen fire on Tuesday (February 6th) in an apartment in an apartment building, a 47-year-old was transported to a clinic with severe smoke poisoning.

At around 11:30 p.m., the fire department received several emergency calls reporting heavy smoke coming from the house on Sprunerstrasse in Neuhausen.

The residents fled the smoke-filled building

While the fire brigade was already on its way, further emergency calls were received reporting that the stairwell was heavily smoked and people were fleeing the building.

The alert level was then increased and additional fire and rescue services were alerted.

Numerous people were already standing on the street in front of the building when the first fire brigade arrived.

However, one person, the 47-year-old resident of the third floor fire apartment, was missing.

In addition, residents on the fourth floor reported to the control center that they were trapped in their apartments.

The fire department asked residents to stay in their smoke-free apartments and wait until they were freed by emergency services.

Additional respiratory protection teams were ordered into the building to free people from their apartments.

One person also rescued the resident from the fire apartment and brought him outside.

He was taken to a Munich clinic.

Finally, the other residents were also rescued from the smoke-filled building.

In total, the fire brigade looked after 20 people, including several children, in a large ambulance.

After about 45 minutes the all-clear was given: “Fire out”.

The kitchen was completely destroyed by the fire and the fire apartment is uninhabitable until further notice.

The police have taken over the investigation into the cause of the fire.

According to initial estimates, the material damage amounts to over 50,000 euros.
