Hamas proposed a three-stage ceasefire plan in response to Qatari and Egyptian mediators - according to a draft document obtained by Reuters.
The terrorist organization demands the release of the abductees captured on October 7 in exchange for Palestinian prisoners, guarantees for the rehabilitation of Gaza, and a complete withdrawal of the IDF from the Gaza Strip.
According to the proposal, in the first phase, which will last 45 days, Palestinian prisoners will be exchanged in exchange for some of the abductees and humanitarian aid. During the first phase , there will be indirect talks with Israel on ending the fighting and restoring calm. In the first phase, Hamas demands, it will be possible to restore the hospitals and refugee camps in Gaza and the withdrawal of IDF forces from the population concentrations in the Strip.
In the second phase, Hamas offers the release of all the kidnapped Israeli men in exchange for a certain number of Palestinian prisoners and the complete withdrawal of the IDF from the Strip. In the third phase, which will last 45 days, remains of bodies will be exchanged between the parties.
The deal is still a long way off.
