Highlights: Hospital petition failed: ÖDP rejected by the health committee - “Not good news”. The aim of the petition was to fully finance the so-called hospital billion - around 300 million euros more than before. According to the coalition agreement, the CSU and Free Voters (FW) want to increase the amount “as needed” in 2024, but the ÖDP wanted to implement the increase immediately with the help of a petition. The Agatharied Hospital itself did not comment on the effects of the rejected petition, even after repeated requests from our newspaper.

The ÖDP Bavaria failed with a petition to the Bavarian state parliament, in which the Miesbach district association of the ÖDP also took part.

District

- As reported, District Councilor Kristina Roedel and District Councilor Olaf Fries had already collected part of the 2,529 signatures across Bavaria during the state election campaign for the demand that the Free State should fulfill its obligation, anchored in the Hospital Financing Act (KHG), to pay for clinics' investments.

The aim of the petition was to fully finance the so-called hospital billion - around 300 million euros more than before.

As district chairman Fries now announces, the petition has been rejected.

In its message, the district council refers to a press release from the ÖDP Bavaria, which speaks of a financing gap in the clinics' investments.

In particular, the petition was rejected by the health committee of the state parliament with the votes of the CSU, FW and AfD.

“This is not good news for our hospital,” explains Fries.

Due to a lack of insight into the figures, he cannot assess the extent to which underfunding actually represents a problem for the Agatharied Hospital.

Chairwoman of the hospital association calls for a structural debate

However, the district council quotes Tamara Bischof, chairwoman of the Bavarian Hospital Association: “The increase in hospital investments by around 24 percent is a strong sign, but only the first step towards fulfilling the hospital billion agreed in the coalition agreement.” The municipalities would also cover half of the hospital levy.

“In the future, a structural debate on the distribution of funds in the hospital levy will also be necessary,” said Bischof, according to Fries.

The Agatharied Hospital itself did not comment on the effects of the rejected petition, even after repeated requests from our newspaper.
