Faced with the discontent of the agents of its four local offices, and the threat of a new strike, La Poste decided to temporarily stop the use

In Évreux (Eure), agents of the city's four post offices won their case in their opposition to the use by their managers of Pop IA, software using the support of artificial intelligence to make their schedules.

With, according to them, weekly schedules that change from one week to the next, without taking into account their family organization, and the impression of being nothing more than adjustment variables that are moved by one box. to the other.

After a strike on Monday January 22 followed by all Ebroïcian agents, a new strike notice was filed for this Tuesday February 6.

But a meeting organized at the invitation of the regional management of La Poste on February 1 made it possible to defuse the conflict by suspending its use.

“Pop IA will no longer be in service at least until the end of February, perhaps even beyond,” says Eric Chirouze, one of the representatives of the CGT-FAPT of Eure.

Looks like a trial run for the group's leaders

“Management told us that additional training would be organized for managers and that new parameters would be taken into account by the software.”

He wants to remain cautious for the future, but he indicates that he has obtained some guarantees.

“Before it is reactivated, officers will be consulted and will be able to give their opinion.

This seemed essential to us and this was what had not been done upstream,” continues the union representative.

As for the Norman management of La Poste, visibly surprised by the extent of the discontent, there were few comments.

“Listening to employees continues with upcoming meetings and workshops,” simply indicates its services.

For Éric Chirouze, this use of Pop IA in Évreux looks like a trial run for the group's leaders.

“It allows them to study how it works on the ground, but above all to see the reaction of the agents.

This time the message that has been sent is clear: people must remain at the center of any organization.”

Humans who will also be more numerous in the weeks to come in Évreux since in passing “during the same meeting, three temporary workers were promised to compensate for absences”, rejoices Éric Chirouze, ensuring that his union will remain vigilant on the consequences of this affair.
